1850 census for Sangamon Co. IL, taken in August lists David as 7 yrs. old. (b. circa 1843)
  Went originally to WY as a sheepherder
  Cattleman in WY, probably with his cousin's Cattle Co.
  1880 census has a David at Tongue Creek, carbon County, WY - listed as farm labor..where he is listed as 36
(but in 1880 he is also listed at home with his father Joshua, in KS and incorrectly lists his age as 27...he would have been 37) and born in IL. (in 1880 he went to WY from KS)

  In letter dated March 1893 from an attorney in Sheridan WY to the probate Judge for Joshua's estate (David's father) it appears that David predeceased his father. The letter is confusing and is transcribed in full in the section on Wills. This letter makes no mention of Joshua but was in Joshua's probate file. It also refers to Thomas and Maggie J. (wife of Joshua).

  He was the son of Jetji Duinnick who was probably born about 1900 or after - in the Netherlands.
  This Dunnink family arrived in California from Canada. They originated in the Netherlands and migrated in the early 1950's to Vancouver Canada. About 1958 a Dirk settled in California. He ultimately became an educator living in Brea, Fontana, and San Bruno CA.
  Dirk was a common name in the family descendants of Harms of Netherdlands.
